GLOBE EU
GLOBE EU is a cross-party group of Members of the European Parliament with an interest in being closely engaged in shaping EU policy developments in the fields of environment, sustainability and global warming.
GLOBE EU provides a platform for the timely discussion of upcoming policy proposals and for co-ordinating political action within the European Parliament. It seeks to facilitate MEPs contacts with Commission officials and stakeholders by organising high-level round table conferences, and by offering support in their political activities. Click here to see what is coming up in their programme.
In July 2009 the GLOBE EU Transition Committee elected Sirpa Pietikäinen MEP (Finland, EPP) as successor of Anders Wijkman MEP (Sweden, EPP), who did not run for re-election to the European Parliament.
GLOBE EU is not an official intergroup of the European Parliament. Its legal status is that of a Belgian international non-profit association (AISBL), and its company number is 445.031.842. Its Rules of Procedure are public.
The work of GLOBE EU is supported by a series of corporate partners via the Bee Group, and by the European Climate Foundation.
