Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development


The committee will consider a draft report of Mr. Lutz GOEPEL (EPP-ED, DE) on the “’Health Check” of the CAP.

Committee on Transport and Tourism


The Committee will consider amendments to the report from Gabriele Albertini (EPP-ED-IT) on Sustainable European transport policy taking into account existing European energy and environment policies. The transport sector is faced with enormous challenges stemming from increasing demands and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The report proposes to do this with a balanced policy mix, based on three pillars: technologies, pricing, and infrastructure measures.

Committee on Environment, Public Health and Safety

The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Safety will exchange views with Mr. Janez Podobnik, Slovenia’s Minister for the Environment and Town and Country Planning.

The Committee will also exchange views on the Green Paper on better ship dismantling. The consultation paper highlights the dangerous and polluting conditions under which many ships are currently broken up on South Asian beaches and sets out a range of options for action at the EU level, pending the development and entry into force of a planned international Convention on safe ship recycling. The rapporteur on this issue is Mr. Johannes Blokland (ID-NL).

Temporary Committee on Climate Change


Mr. Podobnik will also address the Temporary Committee on Climate Change. In addition, the committee will vote the resolution on the outcome of the Bali Conference in view of the January part session.

Mr. Sacconi, Chairman of the committee, will present a draft resolution on the Commission's Green Paper on adapting to climate change.

Committee on Fisheries


The Committee on fisheries will hear from the Commission on the Proposed Regulation on the protection of vulnerable marine ecosystems in the high seas from the adverse impacts of bottom fishing gears.  The regulation aims to protect certain marine ecosystems from bottom fishing practices which can have destructive effects on the habitat by establishing the rules whereby the adverse effects of certain these fishing practices can be prevented and eliminated.

The committee will also exchange views with Mr. Iztok Jarc, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia
